Laptop Trouble Shooting Tips

Ever wonder why does your laptop screen remain blank even after you switch it on? This is one of the common problems associated with laptop computers that most users have experienced. Perhaps it is not getting the required power it needs to operate. First, check to see if the battery “charge” and “power” button lights remain on after turning on the main power.

If it does not turn on, remove the battery, connect your laptop to the AC charger adapter and press the main power button. If the main power light switch doesn’t come on, replace the AC adapter with a new one that’s designed for your particular system. If your laptop boots up with the new AC adapter, shut it down, replace the battery and re-boot. If it continues to work with the new AC adapter, next check to make sure the battery is charging properly.

This is a fast way to find out if your power problem is caused by a defective AC adapter.

If your system starts normally but you don’t have an image on the LCD screen, this is usually due to a bad LCD or some other electrical issue. Contact your nearest computer shop to have the problem properly diagnosed by a trained technician. They will provide a solution that will hopefully help you make an informed decision.

A good computer repair shop will:
 Provide a practical repair and quote within a reasonable amount of time.
 Present options and allow you to make the final decision.
 Make the most of what you already have and not try to sell you a new system.
 Help clients understand why their laptop is broken and how to prevent a repeat of the same occurrence (if possible).
 Notify you if in case of part shortage(s) or shipping delays.
